Superstitious Spike

Our lab/Great Dane mix will randomly swing himself around and go backwards.  He is now

twelve years old and continues to back out when he wants to go outside.

Sneaky Dog Breaks out of Gate when Owner Leaves the House!

Feeling like a BIG DOG

This is by no means our song, Big Dog - Akon by Alan Menken -but it perfectly fit this abandoned and malnourished puppy!!  Thank you Alan Menken!!

The first pictures we posted on Facebook were of a pathetic, emaciated abandoned puppy.  Within six days, a (as the song says) wonderful transformation took place!

This is what happened:

We were outside using the wood CHIPPER, cutting the last branches of our tree we took down. This is the second time today this little guy came in our yard. You can see he is very malnourished. HE NEEDS A HOME, or I will have to bring him to the S.P.C.A. ANYONE need a little puppy? My neighbor said they saw him come out of ...a drain pipe.... We thought CHIPPER would be a good name for him.....OH NO, I am NAMING him!! He is super sweet. ...and he needs someone to rescue him and love him.

CHIPPER UPDATE: Today chipper went to the vet.

Everyone fell in love with him. He weighs 8 pounds, and he should be at least 13 to 16 pounds. He is very emaciated. He has a precious disposition. He got his first vaccine and dewormer. He loves being around people. They think he is actually about 3 to 4 months old, but can't tell because of his weight. They also think he will only get to be about 25 to 30 pounds total weight.

Well after less then a week we fell in love with Chipper.  We had actually had several offers of adoption, but we ended up adopting him ourselves.....

It is 8 days since we have had him....he now weighs 12 pounds!!!   

That was years ago, he is now a large chocolate lab ... about 80 pounds.  : )  

Puzzled Hummingbird Puffs up to scare me away.

Hummingbird not sure if it is safe to be at the feeder.

He puffs up. Puzzled. He stares at me. He strains so hard to see me
that he looks like he is going to fall over.

I was told that "it actually looks a bit like a males mating ritual, on occasion they will puff their chests and tilt their heads to show off their colors for the female, the sunlight catches the feathers making them more noticable to females
